Harvest Cocoa Pods

The cocoa bean pods are the items that will contain the cocoa beans that you require. To harvest the cocoa bean from the pod, you will need to punch the pod on the tree with your hands or any other tool. These pods will drop 1-3 cocoa beans.

Acquire Jungle Logs

While you’re still in the jungle, harvest some jungle wood logs or grab some jungle saplings to grow your own jungle tree. This is very important because cocoa beans only grow on jungle log blocks! It can be noted that the jungle logs don’t need to be part of a natural tree or have the bark on them. So, all forms of jungle logs will work.

Plant Cocoa Beans

Now that you have obtained your cocoa beans from the jungle and have some jungle logs, you are well on your way to mastering how to grow cocoa beans in Minecraft. To start growing your cocoa beans, you will need to plant the ones that you’ve found. Do this by placing one cocoa bean on the side of a jungle wood block. A green pod will appear and begin to grow. Make sure your pod has plenty of light. Now will have to wait until the pod is finished growing or use bone meal on it to speed the process along.

Harvest Cocoa Beans

Cocoa beans have three different growth stages: The just-planted stage, a middle growing stage, and a fully grown ready-to-harvest stage. Cocoa beans will be ready to harvest when they turn brown. Simply punch them to collect the cocoa beans, which can then be used to make dyes, and cookies or to plant more pods. If you want a steady supply of this ingredient, be sure to plant more when you are finished harvesting.
