Flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap: Best Ways to Deal With Them

0

If you’re struggling with flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, you aren’t alone! This guide will cover some of the best strategies you can use to keep them under control while keeping your rift safe. At first, these sneaky barricade-ignoring enemies might seem like a handful. However, with the right traps and investing some skulls in the right places, they will be far less of a problem.

Table of Contents

How to Deal with Flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap

The best traps for stopping flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap are the Ice Lance, the Auto Crossbow, the Wall Scorcher, and the Acid Shower. The next two sections will dive into why these traps are so effective and how to utilize them best. Another way to easily take down flyers is by increasing your primary damage in the war mage skill tree. Finally, keep an eye out for threads during your run that make your preferred flyer-killing traps even more deadly. Read the sections on each of these tactics to learn more about the reasoning behind each strategy.

Ice Lance and Auto Crossbow Traps

Orcs Must Die Deathtrap Frozen Flyer

The Ice Lance and Auto Crossbow are the two most effective ways to deal with flyers because of their large areas of coverage in every direction. Set them up around the rift and any choke points leading toward it and most flyers will be quickly disposed of. Investing some early skulls into upgrading these traps will make this strategy even more potent. The two work particularly well as a combo, with the Ice Lances freezing the flyers in place, so your Auto Crossbows have time to get off a second burst of arrows.

Orcs Must Die Deathtrap Ice Lance

The Ice Lance is by far the best method for dealing with flyers in Orcs Must Die! DeathTrap. Creating a few layers of these will outright kill weaker flyers and freeze stronger ones in place, allowing you or Auto Crossbows to finish them off. This is particularly helpful with the Cyclops Druids, whose annoying beam will get cut off or prevented from firing altogether. Investing skulls into the trap and making it a mainstay in your trap loadout has other benefits beyond countering flyers. They are also great for freezing bosses, ogres, trolls, and any purple icon enemies whose high damage or large health pool might threaten your war mage or the rift.

Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap Auto Crossbow

Auto Crossbows are great for flyers because their large targeting area allows them to deal with flyers no matter what direction they come from. They pair well with other traps to deal with flyers as well. They will either provide damage to flyers that are frozen by the Ice Lance or finish off any that are weakened by status effect traps. In the next section, we will explain why status effect traps also do a great job at keeping flyers away from your rift.

Damage Over Time Status Effect Traps

Wall Scorchers and Flyers

Status effect traps that can cover air pathways used to approach the rift are excellent for whittling down or killing flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. The wall scorcher and acid shower are best because of their high damage status effect and perfect area coverage. Using these to cover the different ways flyers might approach the rift will apply plenty of damage to them. This will ensure they either die on the way or arrive near the rift weak and easily finished off by auto crossbows or even by your war mage.

Orcs Must Die Deathtrap Wall Scorcher

Wall Scorchers are the best status trap for dealing with flyers. This trap boasts high damage and a four-barricade long trigger box. They easily cover some of the largest hallways that flyers might use to reach the rift. If you space them out so the burning status gets reapplied multiple times, most weaker flyers won’t make it past. This trap is also great for dealing with all enemies large or small, flying or grounded.

Orcs Must Die Deathtrap Acid Shower

A status effect trap that can used to stop flyers is the Acid Shower. Some approaches might not easily accommodate the length of this trap or even have a place for you to set it up due to the open-air nature of many of the maps. However, if you can cover an area with this trap, its damage and effect are better than the Wall Scorcher. Similarly to the Wall Scorcher, it is great against all types of enemies.

Increase War Mage’s Primary Attack

War Mage Skill Tree

One of the most surefire ways to deal with flyers in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap is to do it yourself. Most flyers don’t have huge health pools. Therefore, all it takes is increasing your primary damage to effectively counter them using your war mage. The primary damage-increasing nodes in the war mage skill tree are not too far from the start, so investing some early skulls here is a great idea. A few ice lances can also help keep them frozen while you burst them down. There are also a few nodes that can increase your critical hit chance for your primary attack. While some of these are not as close to the beginning of the skill tree, they will help you kill flyers or any other enemy you are fighting.

Select Anti-Flyer Threads

Anti-Air and Frostbite Threads

Finally, keep an eye out for threads during your run that buff your preferred flyer-killing trap. Anti-Air can make sure other enemies don’t distract your Auto Crossbows from dealing with flyers if that is their primary job. The double damage buff makes them extra effective as well. Frostbite is an amazing thread for the Ice Lance that wreaks havoc on groups of flyers and ground-based enemies alike. Combine that with the Stay Cool thread and the Ice Lance is a force to be reckoned with. Slow-roasted can help your Wall Scorchers apply even more damage over time to flyers. There are a few threads specific to each of the traps mentioned in this article. If chance makes them available, they are worth selecting if they match your favorite flyer countering trap.

Stay Cool and Slow Roasted Threads

How to Breed Pets in Sims 3: Cats, Dogs and Horses

0

Having The Sims 3 Pet expansion opens many options for animals, including breeding your pets. If you’re curious about how to breed pets in Sims 3, it comes down to having high relationship levels and a spot for mating. Your pets will now be able to fall in love and create families, along with creating full family trees that you can keep track of.

Table of Contents

How to Breed Dogs in Sims 3

How to breed dogs in Sims 3

How to breed dogs in Sims 3 starts with having two dogs that are of opposite genders. You will be able to raise their relationship level through interactions with each other. Once their relationship is high enough, the two dogs will be able to woohoo together. In order to start breeding your dogs, you will need to buy and place a pet house on your lot. While having your dog selected, click on the pet house and choose “Try For Baby”.

The dogs will woohoo and there is a possibility that the female will get pregnant. Like human sims, if the dog gets pregnant a lullaby sound will play right after. If you don’t hear the sound, the dogs most likely did not successfully breed. You will have to continue this process until the female dog gets pregnant.

Pregnancy of the Dog

When the female dog successfully becomes pregnant, it will be hard to know from the appearance of the dog because they will not grow in size like humans. You will know from the lullaby song that plays after the woohoo, as well as the pregnancy moodlet that the dog gets. After three days, the dog will give birth to a litter of puppies. The number of puppies is randomized and will not be something that you can control.

Birth of the Puppies

Birth of puppies

When three days have passed, the dog will be due to give birth. The dog will not go into labor like human sims. She will stop doing her current task and begin giving birth to the puppies. The puppies will appear next to the mother and will immediately become part of your active household. They do not need any special care beyond a typical pet dog.

How to Breed Cats in Sims 3

How to breed cats in Sims 3

To begin learning how to breed cats in Sims 3, you will need to acquire two cats of the opposite gender. You can add a cat to your family when you create your household or through pet adoption. The two cats will need to raise their relationship’s level through positive interactions. Once their relationship is high enough, the option to “Try for a Baby” will appear when clicking on a pet house. If the two cats agree to partake, they will enter and begin woohooing. This will be similar to the typical woohoo, with the common woohoo noises and hearts falling. A lullaby noise will play if the breeding has been successful in causing pregnancy. All of this works exactly the same as with breeding dogs.

Pregnancy of the Cat

The first sign of pregnancy will be the playing of a lullaby noise after trying for a baby. Once the cat is pregnant, they will have a Pregnant moodlet by the next day. Similarly to the other animals, cats will not show a pregnant belly as the days go by. They generally will not show any other positive or negative moodlet that would indicate pregnancy until they give birth.

Birth of the Kittens

Cat giving birth to kittens

When three days have passed, the cat will give birth to a litter of kittens. The number of kittens is random and cannot be chosen. The cat may meow in pain a few times before the rainbow of colors reveals the birth of the kittens. These new pets will now be added to your active household. They will not need any additional care beyond a typical cat or kitten.

How to Breed Horses in Sims 3

How to breed horses in Sims 3

You will have more options on how to breed horses in Sims 3 than the other pets on this list. One method is to have two opposite-gendered horses that have a high enough relationship to mate. To do so, you must purchase a box stall for your horses. When they can be bred, you can attempt to “Try for Foal” under the romance interactions of the horses. Otherwise, you can click on the box stall to select “Try for Foal” and proceed to select the horse that you wish to breed. The horses will enter the stall and a large box will blur out the activity inside.

Equestrian Center

Alternatively, if you own a female horse and do not want to buy another horse or raise a pair’s relationship high enough, you can select the Equestrian Center for the option to “Breed Horse”. When selected, a sim will ride the female horse to the center and enter inside. A pop-up will occur that shows you a list of potential steeds that the female can breed with. You will be able to see the photos and traits to select the best match for what you are looking for in a baby horse. Once the animals finish breeding, you will leave with the horse and ride home.

Pregnancy of the Horse

You will hear the typical lullaby sound upon successful breeding of your horses on your own lot. If you bred with a horse at the Equestrian Center, this will be an ensured success. Both cases will result in the horse showing the Pregnant moodlet within a day. Like other animals, the female will not grow in size to show pregnancy.

Birth of the Foal

Birth of horse

After three days of pregnancy, the mother horse will give birth to a foal. A pop-up box will appear asking you to name the new foal. Once you name the foal, a rainbow of colors will appear, revealing a baby horse lying on the ground. This pet will become a new active member of your household. It will not require any additional care beyond a normal horse or foal.

Can You Sell Pets for Money in Sims 3?

Confirmation prompt when selling a horse in Sims 3

Once you’ve learned how to breed pets in Sims 3, you might be wondering if you can turn this into a career for your Sim. Unfortunately, you will not be able to sell dogs or cats for money. If you want to get rid of some of the babies that you have bred, you will need to put them up for adoption. This option can be found under the Services area on your sim’s phone. Due to this, breeding cats and dogs is not a way to bring in an income.

However, you can sell horses at the Equestrian Center. You will get this option by selecting the location and clicking “Sell Horse”. Your sim will proceed to ride the horse to the center and enter the building. Once inside, a pop-up will appear that tells you the price offered for the horse. You will then be able to confirm if you want to sell the horse or not.

NRAAS Master Controller Mod

If you’re wondering how to breed pets in Sims 3 without having to work hard on a relationship or buy the pet house or box stall, a mod might be a perfect choice for your playthrough. The NRAAS Master Controller Mod will allow you to immediately get your female pet pregnant with the click of a button! Simply click on the pet that you want to impregnate, select NRAAS Master Controller, select “Basic”, and then “Pollinate”. A pop-up will appear that allows you to select the donor male. The animal will become pregnant and a pregnancy moodlet will show within a day. Within a few days, a baby will be born.

8 Best Games Like Unturned: Craft, Build, Survive

Unturned is a unique zombie survival game with its low-resolution art and distinct gameplay. Multiplayer is also a major feature that unlocks more gameplay options. This includes both PvE and PvP modes that create new facets in the game as you team up with friends and take on other people in a battle for survival. Here are the best games like Unturned that share some of the traits that make it such a unique experience.

Table of Contents

DayZ

The closest parallel to Unturned is the zombie survival game DayZ. It is a more hardcore version of Unturned with a high-resolution art design. The game is all about scavaging in a zombie apocalypse to survive. Complete with base-building, crafting, and multiplayer gameplay just like Unturned, the only things that really stand out between these two games are the art style and the fact that DayZ is significantly harder. All the survival aspects are more realistic and challenging, loot is more scarce, and the zombies are harder to kill. If you are looking for a more realistic version of Unturned on a harder difficulty, look no further than DayZ.

Check out DayZ on Steam!

Rust

Rust is not a zombie survival game, but it definitely belongs at the top of a list of games like Unturned. It has nearly all the other gameplay similarities minus the zombies. There are even plugins for Rust that will add zombies into the game. You can get your survival, crafting, base-building, and looting fix in Rust just like you would in Unturned. You will find the two games have a large overlap in their player bases as well. Both PvE and PvP modes are available in Rust’s multiplayer experience, however, most prefer the PvP. If spawning naked on a map and struggling to survive is something you love about Unturned and you haven’t given Rust a try, what are you waiting for?

Check out Rust on Steam!

7 Days to Die

One of the most unique zombie survival games out there is 7 Days to Die. This game blends survival, base-building, and tower defense. You will need to survive in the zombie apocalypse by scavaging and mining for resources to build your base. All in preparation for a blood moon that occurs every 7th in-game night. On this night, a horde of zombies will seek you out no matter where you try to hide. So, fortify your bunker well because it will need to withstand wave after wave of zombies, and the difficulty will increase with each blood moon. You can play PvE or PvP online with friends and other players.

The parallels within 7 Days to Die to Unturned are obvious. You will need to survive in a zombie apocalypse while scavaging through the remains of civilization. However, 7 Days to Die leans much more on its PvE aspects and even has quests you can do for NPC traders. Online PvP servers are out there, but you will find most people prefer PvE and cooperative gameplay due to the zombie threat in this game being much more robust. The base-building is also much more in-depth and even involves traps and electrical wiring. If you’re a fan of the PvE aspects of Unturned, 7 Days to Die will amaze you.

There are several zombie survival games on this list of games like Unturned but Project Zomboid is the only two-dimensional one. This game is played in a top-down perspective and has many of your classic zombie survival mechanics. Rummage through buildings to gather loot while fighting off the undead. The game has a surprising amount of realism in contrast to its lower-quality graphics. With complex crafting, sickness, and injuries, Project Zomboid has so much depth. Much like Unturned, you can team up and play with friends. There are PvP mechanics in this game, however, most people prefer to play Project Zomboid PvE.

State of Decay 2

Next on our list is State of Decay 2, the cooperative open-world zombie survival game. While Unturned is more about you and your friends trying to survive, State of Decay adds a neat twist. In this game, you have the additional goal of establishing a community in the wasteland, and you get to choose how it is run. You will be scavaging not only for yourself but also for the community. You have the option of allowing NPCs in your town or refusing them entry. You will face all sorts of unique challenges in each community you create. This game is perfect for Unturned players who enjoy a little role-playing and community-building with their friends, as it offers cooperative multiplayer gameplay. It is another excellent choice for games like Unturned if you are more interested in PvE and cooperation with friends.

Dying Light

The final zombie survival game that makes this list is Dying Light. This game is a cooperative PvE game where you can team up with your friends and fight through hordes of zombies. The game does not have traditional survival mechanics where you will need to manage food, water, etc. It does require you to scavenge and loot for material to craft and trade with. Dying Light is more centered around zombie combat compared to Unturned, with the quests and story missions being the biggest aspects of the game. If you are looking for a fast-paced alternative to Unturned that still has a crafting system, Dying Light is a good option to look into.

Ark: Survival Evolved

As we begin to move away from the games with zombies in them, Ark: Survival Evolve stands out. While Ark might be all about dinosaurs, it still shares plenty of similarities to Unturned. Ark features in-depth base building and crafting mechanics. You will be getting all your resources by harvesting natural resources and dead creatures. While at first your weapons will be limited to primitive spears and bows, guns are craftable later in the game. You can even set up powerful sentries on your base when you really advance into the game. The game also features both PvE and PvP servers, so you can team up with friends to take on other players or the game’s bosses and dungeon-like caves. Among the games like Unturned, Ark is great for fans of multiplayer survival games that involve plenty of base-building.

Sons of the Forest

Another non-zombie survival game with plenty of base building is Sons of the Forest. This game is a great cooperative option and is a ton of fun with friends. The game has a strong narrative story to complete and enjoyable survival mechanics. Sons of the Forest is the sequel to The Forest (Also a great option). The first game is set on an island filled with mutant cannibals. You end up there following a plane crash and must find your son and escape the island. In Sons of the Forest, you are part of a team of private military contractors sent to recover a CEO and his family who are missing on the island. The pair of games have many similar survival mechanics to Unturned and feature a fun cooperative PvE experience. Both The Forest and Sons of the Forest are great games like Unturned.

Sims 3 Nectar Recipes: Amazing Combinations

0

The Sims 3 World Adventures brought many additions to the game, including the skill of nectar making. Essentially, nectar is the Sim version of wine and shares many similarities. This can be a hobby for your Sim or a self-employment career path. Choosing the most profitable Sims 3 nectar recipes to produce and age can net your sim a lot of money.

Table of Contents

How to Make Nectar in Sims 3

Making nectar in Sims 3

Nectar is made by combining fruits within a nectar making machine. You will need a nectar maker, which you can purchase by traveling to Champs Le Sims in France. If you plan on making this a career for your sim, purchasing at least two or three is helpful to create nectar continuously. The sim must add ten pieces of fruit into the nectar maker to form one of the Sims 3 nectar recipes. Once added, the sim will need to squish the fruit with their feet to get juice from it. You must then choose which type of nectar you want to make before it is bottled. Nectar bottles will need to be stored within racks in a basement to age them properly. Aging nectar will allow you to make the greatest amount of money per batch. Nectar will increase in value each day that it is stored.

Useful Traits for Making Nectar

There are multiple traits that will benefit sims to have if they want to produce nectar efficiently. These traits will allow for the sim to excel at gardening and produce perfect quality fruit quickly, as well as repair and upgrade the nectar machine.

Green Thumb

The key to making amazing nectar is to have high-quality ingredients. The best way to do this is to make a garden for your sim. The sim will be more efficient at gardening if they possess the Green Thumb trait since they learn the skill of gardening at a faster rate and grow higher quality produce. This comes in very handy while you are trying to grow perfect-quality fruits for the best nectar.

Gatherer

The Gatherer trait allows your sim to plant higher-quality plants while gardening. This is an excellent trait to pair with Green Thumb to give your sim a significant boost to their gardening abilities. You will have a much easier time making your perfect garden to supply your nectar-making with these two traits.

Loves the Outdoors

A garden full of perfect-quality fruits is essential to an amazing batch of nectar. This requires a lot of time spent outdoors while gardening. If a sim has this trait, they will thoroughly enjoy their time outside and get a +20 positive moodlet. Additionally, these sims tend to be better gardeners as well.

Handiness

Having a sim with the handiness skill as part of your active household is very useful. Not only will they be able to quickly repair a broken nectar machine, they will be able to upgrade it as well. Sims with this trait will have the option to upgrade a nectar machine in one of three ways: Improved Pressing, Unbreakable, and Enhanced Flavor.

Best Upgrade for Nectar Maker

Upgrading the nectar maker

If you have a sim that has points into their handiness skill, they will eventually be able to upgrade the nectar making machine. The options for upgrades are improved pressing, unbreakable, and enhanced flavor. Improved pressing will give you an additional bottle per batch of nectar. Unbreakable will make it so that the machine never breaks down, and therefore, never needs to be repaired. Enhanced flavor increases the value of each bottle. Combining the upgrade of improved pressing with extended nectaration will result in the highest value per batch of nectar made. Below we compare the price per bottle for one of the Sims 3 nectar recipes with each of the different upgrades:

The plasma fruit is enjoyed by vampires only, so if a human sim consumes it they will get the negative moodlet of “Nauseous” and tend to vomit.

How to Have a Wedding in Sims 3: Tying the Knot

0

Do you want to throw your sim the wedding of their dreams? In this guide on how to have a wedding in Sims 3, we will ensure you know the ins and outs of making your Sim’s big day memorable. From meeting the perfect match to creating the perfect ceremony, discover the necessary steps to make the day a success!

Table of Contents

Build a Relationship with a Partner

Couple kissing.

The first step for how to have a wedding in Sims 3 is to find a partner. The two sims will have to be romantically interested in one another, which is done with positive romantic interactions between the two. This will open up the option to propose going steady, allowing for the two to become boyfriend and girlfriend. This option is available from the life stages of teenager to elder. Once dating, the sims will be able to propose marriage to each other when the romantic relationship is high enough. If you want to expedite the process, you can start a playthrough with two people already dating or engaged. Sims can propose and get engaged while living with each other or separately.

If a sim turns down marriage, the relationship is not high enough yet. Continue building a stronger bond and make the two complete more romantic interactions. Additionally, if the other sim has a trait such as Commitment Issues, they are likely to say no to marriage unless their relationship is very high.

Bachelor/Bachelorette Party

Bachelor Party with dancer.

For some extra traditional fun before the wedding, consider throwing a bachelor or bachelorette party for the engaged sims. While this is not an essential part of how to have a wedding in Sims 3, it can add a bit of excitement to the experience. This party can be held at your house or on a community lot. Opting to have the party on your own lot will provide greater control and potential fun since you’ll be able to call for services and plan the party better. You can have pizza delivered or even buy a juice keg to have fun with. If your household has a bar, you can hire a mixologist or craft your own delicious drinks to show off your mixology skills.

With Sims 3 Generations installed, inviting a sim’s close friends to their bachelor or bachelorette party may bring some unexpected entertainment. One of the invited friends will likely invite entertainers to the party. These performers will arrive dressed in police, military, or regular-themed clothing. These entertainers will proceed to dance with a spotlight shining onto them while music plays. Be careful though, if the sim makes any flirtatious moves toward the performers, their partner might just find out and be angry!

Choose the Type of Wedding

To begin the marriage ceremony phase in how to have a wedding in Sims 3, you must properly plan for the type you want. After a sim has accepted another’s hand in marriage, they will now get the option to have a private wedding or prepare for a larger event. Opting for a private wedding will make your sims essentially elope and it will immediately be done. No prep work is needed for this method. Your sims will still get days off after getting married to go on their honeymoon or celebrate. For those wanting to have a larger and more extravagant wedding, you will need to prepare your wedding venue. The wedding venue can either be at your sim’s house or on a community lot.

Preparing a Wedding on Your Lot
How to have a wedding on your own lot in Sims 3.

When hosting a ceremony on your own lot, you will be able to design the wedding in any way that you see fit. However, the one requirement is that you must purchase a wedding arch. This object serves as the place where the two sims will stand underneath to exchange vows and successfully get married. You can enhance the visual appeal of the event by putting chairs in front of the archway so that guests can sit and watch the ceremony take place. Consider placing flowers and other suitable decorations to make the mood even more wedding-themed.

To ensure that the guests have a great time, be sure to prepare food and activities that will keep them entertained and well-fed. You can purchase a wedding cake that the married couple can cut into and serve to their guests. Additionally, purchasing a buffet table is a quick and easy way to provide your attendees with plenty of food. Alternatively, you can make and serve homemade dishes if you want, especially if an engaged sim has a wish to do so. Don’t forget to add a dance floor and some music, giving the event a typical reception vibe!

Preparing a Wedding on a Community Lot
How to have a wedding on a community lot in Sims 3.

If you opt to have a wedding on a community lot, be prepared to do some planning ahead. Unfortunately, most maps do not have an already suitable community lot that comes with a wedding archway and is intended for a wedding. You can go into “Edit Town” and go into “Build/Buy” for any community lot to add an archway and seats for your event. Otherwise, you can make your own wedding venue on an empty lot and change the lot type to one that allows for parties.

Due to the creative work of The Sims 3 player base, you can download pre-designed wedding venues online and add them to your town if want one that is beautifully built without any effort. These will typically be preset with everything that you need to hold the event. Your town will be fit to have a picture-perfect wedding! This will lessen the necessary steps for planning how to have a wedding in Sims 3 while ensuring a beautiful event.

Throw the Wedding

At the church alter.

Once you are properly prepared for the wedding, use the sim phone to throw a party on your lot or a community lot. You will get the option to throw a “Wedding Party” in the drop-down list. Select your desired time and the dress code of the event. Once the event begins, you should mingle and serve any food that you have prepared. When you are ready, click on the wedding archway and select “Get Married”, which will initiate the marriage ceremony. The guests will take their seats in front of the archway to watch as the two sims exchange their vows and wedding rings. Afterward, don’t forget to cut the wedding cake and have some fun with the guests!

Plan a Honeymoon

Now that your sims are married and have days off from work, you may want to consider going on a vacation to celebrate. Select your sim’s phone and select “Real Estate and Travel Services” and proceed to select the location that you would like to go to. Pick the number of days that you want to go there for and make your sims enjoy their first memories together as a married couple. With these simple steps on how to have a wedding in Sims 3, you are now well on your way to making your sim’s wedding day unforgettable!

This game is more similar to Grounded than any other game on this list. While Grounded has more of a sci-fi theme to it, Smallands uses fantasy elements to achieve a similar experience. In Smallands, you play as fairy-like creatures called Smallfolk who have a cool set of wings that enable you to glide. Much like in Grounded, you are no larger than a small bug, and all the critters we normally think of as small are now much larger than you. Bugs, birds, lizards, and even snakes will stalk the grasses you are trying to survive in. What is interesting about this game is a handful of the creatures can even be tamed and ridden. Just note that the game is still in early access and receiving regular updates.

Much like Grounded, this game also features a narrative for you to follow as you play along. Your queen is sick and you must leave the safety of the borrows and venture into the overworld where the Giants lived before they went extinct. The giants in this case are humans, and the premise is the smallfolk went underground as humans inhabited the Earth. A cataclysmic event then wiped the humans out and the smallfolk can now return to the surface. You must go out into the big wide world in search of an all-curing potion to save the queen. This thrilling adventure as a tiny smallfolk is sure to remind you of Grounded. So, when it comes to games like Grounded, you can’t get much closer than Smallands.

Raft

Raft is one of the best games like Grounded.

Grounded features a fun and cartoonish art style that makes some of the more intense elements of a survival game a little less scary. Raft is a survival game that uses a similar art style to create a similar effect. In this game, you are stranded in an endless ocean with only a small raft. You must grab trash and other objects floating in the ocean to expand your raft and survive. Several islands are randomly placed out on the ocean that also have resources and even story progression items, as well as events for you to find.

At first, the combat in this game mostly represents a shark in the water that is constantly attacking you and your raft. However, some of the larger islands that are related to the story feature several other threats such as giant rats, mud hogs, and even bears. These would be rather terrifying if not for the cartoonish art style of the game. Your primary weapons are primitive swords, spears, bows, and arrows. While combat is part of the game, it is not meant to be the primary gameplay experience. Raft shines with the ability to build up and customize your raft. Raft’s lighthearted cartoon art style and robust building mechanics are what put it among games like Grounded.

Don’t Starve Together

Don't Starve Campsite

Grounded and Don’t Starve Together have very different survival mechanics and gameplay. In Don’t Starve, the gameplay perspective is top-down, and base building resolves more around establishing a campsite than building structures. The game has a dark and whimsical art style that makes its challenging gameplay more laid-back and enjoyable. For those who enjoyed the way Grounded’s art made the game a more casual survival experience, you will likely appreciate Don’t Starve. Additionally, you have the option to invite all of your friends you played Grounded with to join you to see how long you can survive in Don’t Starve.

For games like Grounded, this option is an excellent choice if you enjoy the challenging yet straightforward combat. In Don’t Starve, the enemies can be quite tough to take down, especially at first. Combat mostly relies on just hitting away enemies while making sure you have adequate armor. However, some of the more challenging enemies will require you to craft stronger and more unique weapons. Don’t Starve also features a multitude of unique characters to play as. Each character has their own distinct traits that make playing as them an entirely different experience when compared to one another. Don’t Starve is the perfect game to play after Grounded if you are looking for a casual yet challenging survival experience.

Subnautica is a highly acclaimed survival exploration game. You will spend your time roaming wonderous undersea locations while occasionally dealing with the creatures that stalk the deep blue ocean. Combat in this game is rather sparse so it ends up being a much more peaceful experience. Subnautica’s exploration has a similar thrill because it allows players to explore the vast depth of the ocean, something we normally can’t do as land mammals. If you had a fun time taking in the sights and exploring in Grounded, you will find comparable excitement in Subnautica.

A unique part about resource gathering in this game is that your tamed dinosaurs can be used to increase efficiency by gathering and carrying them for you. The base-building mechanics are also quite similar to that of Grounded. It is a fantastic survival game to play if you enjoy the terror of fighting a wolf spider because staring down a Giganotosaurus can give you the same sense of dread!

Green Hell

Green Hell is the most realistic choice for games like Grounded.

In both Green Hell and Grounded the bugs pose a threat to you. The main difference?lies within the size of your body and the tone of the game. Green Hell offers a realistic and hardcore Amazonian survival experience. That’s right, you’re lost in the middle of the Amazon rainforest which is filled with a ridiculous amount of things that can poison or eat you. Not to mention, the forest is filled with hostile natives who aren’t happy about your presence.

The game features a lot of realistic survival mechanics, such as injuries to various body parts that require specific treatments to mend them. The game can be very challenging at first, even when playing on an easier difficulty. However, the game can be extremely fun and even played with friends. The story also has a surprising amount of depth for a game that is heavily focused on survival. You will find that gathering resources and constructing a base to survive in this game is very similar to Grounded. If you are fine with a much more realistic and challenging experience give Green Hell a try.
