You may have experienced your sim going missing one night and not being able to find them on the map. The sim eventually gets dropped off by a spaceship near their house by aliens. The sim will have a moodlet that reflects the strange events of the night. But, what happened when the sim was gone? Your sim may now get to experience a Sims 3 alien abduction pregnancy!

What Happens During a Sims 3 Alien Abduction Pregnancy?
Four main things happen during a Sims 3 alien abduction pregnancy: the investigation of a mysterious anomaly, abduction, pregnancy, and birth. Each of these steps plays an essential role in determining whether your Sim is destined to have an alien baby. Read on to learn about each step.
Investigation of a Mysterious Anomaly and Abduction
Your sim will get the action to investigate a strange anomaly. This action cannot be canceled. They will see shining colors in the sky, which will be where the spaceship arrives. The spaceship will proceed to beam your sim up and take them away. Your sim will be missing from the map for a couple of hours until they are brought back. They will come back with an abducted moodlet from their experience.
Pregnancy
There is a 33% chance that a male sim will get pregnant after being abducted. You will witness them begin to gain weight, which will be reflected in an unexpected weight gain moodlet. This is the first sign that your male sim is now pregnant with an alien baby after the abduction. They begin walking in the same way pregnant female sims do, with a bulging belly and may even radiate a green glow from their stomach randomly. After this moodlet goes away, your male sim will give birth.
Birth
A few days after an abduction and pregnancy, your sim will be ready to give birth to the alien baby. When you get the notification that your male sim is giving birth, it may catch you off guard if this is your first experience with this happening. Your sim will be holding a small green child with large black eyes.
The game will give you a prompt that asks if you want to keep the child or send it back to its home world. If you choose to keep the child, it is added to your household and you get to raise it like any other sim baby. If you choose to send the child away, you will not get to speak to or see the alien child ever again. After giving birth, your male sim will not get time off of from work like female sims do following a regular pregnancy.
How are Sims 3 Alien Babies Different?
Aliens come with key differences as they age. These differences include their appearance, brain power, job options, and abilities. Due to these differences, playing with an alien sim in your household can make your game quite different from normal!
Appearance of an Alien Baby
A Sims 3 alien abduction pregnancy will result in a strange-looking baby since the child is a hybrid. The baby will be green in color and have large black eyes. However, you will get to alter the hair and clothing of the alien sim just like other playable household members. Alien babies behave the same way as a typical sim child, however, the voice of the baby will sound different. The voice will have a unique echo sound to it that is different from a normal sim’s voice.
Brain Power and Abilities
Beginning when the alien offspring becomes a teenager, you will notice that they do not have an energy bar like normal sims. This is replaced with a brainpower bar. Due to this, they do not sleep like normal sims and instead will restore their brain power. They can restore brain power by lying in bed or sitting down. Restoring brain power will put them into a trance as they regenerate power. They can also restore their energy by eating space rocks. Alien babies, toddlers, and children have a normal energy bar like regular sims do.
Sims with alien DNA will be able to utilize their unique abilities in a variety of ways. Some of these abilities include transmuting gems and metals, scanning other sims, repairing objects, and bio-boosting/draining another sim. Transmuting metal or gems will make the item better and raise its value. Scanning another sim will allow your alien to learn someone else’s traits quickly, however, you will only learn one at a time per scan. Alien sims will be able to quickly repair broken objects with their minds, instead of cranking away with a wrench and needing skills. Finally, an alien sim will be able to bio-boost another sim’s stats by lowering their own stats and giving it to them. In reverse to this, they can bio-drain another sim’s stats and increase their own stats, however, this tends to upset the other sim afterward.
Alien Test Subject Career
Alien sims will have access to the alien test subject career, which is not available to regular sims. This is a part-time job that only has three promotional levels, like other part-time jobs. Alien sims will be able to accept this as a part-time job once they reach the teenager stage. You can find this option at the science facility in town.
How to Cause an Alien Abduction in Sims 3
There are a few methods that you can use to improve your odds of experiencing an alien abduction and possibly a Sims 3 alien abduction pregnancy. These methods are:
- Staying Awake at Night: Alien abductions will occur between the hours of 12 AM to 4 AM. The chances of abduction without any other action are roughly 2%.
- Stargazing: Making your sim stargaze through a telescope at night, during the hours when abduction is possible, raises your chances of being taken. The percentage chance of being abducted is raised to 13% with this method.
- Collecting Space Rocks: Finding and collecting space rocks can drastically increase the likelihood of a sim being abducted by aliens in Sims 3. Having a space rock in your inventory increases the chance by 38%. You can find space rocks around town just like gems and seeds.
- Increasing the Logic Skill: Raising the logic skill of a sim helps increase the odds of them getting abducted. Conveniently, you can increase your logic skill by using a telescope, which as mentioned above, increases the chances of abduction on its own as well!
