Create a Sim
The most straightforward and easiest method for how to become a fairy in Sims 3 is by making the sim a fairy when you create them. When you initially create your sims to start your active household, you will have the option of making them human or any one of the supernatural occults. Simply select the fairy option and design your new fae sim to match their selected status. A fairy made this way will have all of the special abilities available to them right off the bat.
Bottled Blessing of the Fae
Elixirs gives you another option for how to become a fairy in Sims 3. If your sim has an interest in alchemy, they will eventually learn how to make the Bottled Blessing of the Fae elixir. Crafting this elixir requires an alchemy skill level of 10. Additionally, it requires the following ingredients to be acquired and in your sim’s inventory: Red toadstools, sunstone, and a fairy damsel fish. Once you have these ingredients, your sim will be able to brew up this elixir. After the elixir is brewed, it will go into your sim’s inventory. Use the elixir and your sim will immediately become a fairy.
Alternatively, if your sim is not alchemy inclined, you will still be able to acquire the Bottled Blessing of the Fae elixir. You can do so by heading over to the elixir consignment store. This store will rotate its current stock, so you may not immediately see the elixir for sale. The elixir consignment store rotates its inventory every day, so check back each day for a chance to buy it. It will cost you $2114 Simoleons. While this is a steep price, it is a quick and effortless method to obtain the elixir.
Search for Fairies
When searching for fairies there is a chance that you can be transformed into one yourself. The supernatural expansion added multiple lots that can be added to your town, one of which is the Fae Ray Arboretum. Once this lot is added to your town, you will be able to select the lot and have your sim search for fairies at this location. You will randomly make friends with fairies that you find inside. Fairies that you meet in the Arboretum will automatically become good friends with you. There is a rare chance that searching for fairies here will give your sim a fairy opportunity that can change them into a fae.
Adding NRAAS Mods
For those that choose to play with mods added to their game, the NRAAS MasterController mod gives you a ton of new options. This way of how to become a fairy in Sims 3 will require that you download the MasterController mod, as well as the MasterController Cheats module. Use in Game Cheats
Using the available in game cheats is a quick and simple way to turn your sim into a fairy. Simply press Control, Shift, and C. This will open up a box to type into on the top of the screen. Type in “testingcheatsenabled true”. You will then be able to hold the Shift key and click on your sim to take them into create a sim (CAS). Once CAS opens, you can easily change your sim’s occult like you would at the start of your game.
Have Fairy Children
You won’t be able to turn your main sim into a fairy with this method, however, you will be able to add additional fairy sims to your household this way. If your sim has a baby with another sim that is a fairy, they will have a 50% chance at having a baby that is also a fairy. This gives you pretty good odds of having a fairy child added to your household. If both sims are fairies, you will have a 100% chance of the child being born a fairy.
How to Remove the Fairy Status
The Potent Cure Elixir is the only method available for how to remove the fairy status other than using mods or cheats. You will be able to make this elixir at an alchemy station if your sim is level 7 or above in the alchemy skill and has learned the recipe. You will need to acquire the following items in order to brew it: Wolfsbane flower, glow orbs and a ruby.
Once you make the elixir, you can find it in your sim’s inventory. Once it is used on the sim, all supernatural statuses will be removed and they will return to a human state once again. It’s important to note that the Potent Cure Elixir is different from a Cure Elixir. The Cure Elixir will remove any curses from a sim, however, it will not remove supernatural status from a sim. The Potent Cure Elixir is a stronger version that will turn a sim with a supernatural status back into a human.
Alternatively, if you do not want to make the elixir yourself or do not have the skills, you are able to purchase the Potent Cure Elixir. Head on over to the elixir consignment store and check the daily inventory for the elixir. The store will alternate its inventory daily, so keep checking back periodically to find it. This will only cost you $664 Simoleons and is a great option for returning your fairy sim back to normal quickly.
